Foodshed Farm All Arkansas
Basket-A-Month Program Rules

Last Updated March 2009

By subscribing to the Foodshed Farm All Arkansas Basket-A-Month Program (BAM), you agree to the following terms:

1.      BAM subscribers must pay in advance for a minimum of three baskets. (This is the first key component of a community supported agriculture program.) Payment may be made by check, cash or credit card. For new subscribers, payment must be received by the Monday before the first basket pickup day. Payment may be made when you pick up your basket ONLY if you are renewing your subscription.

2.      Subscription payments are not refundable. (This is the second key component of community supported agriculture.) You assume a risk in this type of program. By investing in the harvest up front, subscribers share with farmers the potential financial losses due to unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather or crop failure.

3.      Basket pickup days are announced by e-mail several days ahead of the first pickup day each month. You MUST reply by e-mail to schedule your pickup day and location by the cutoff date stated in the e-mail.

4.      If you reserve a basket but do not pick it up during the three-day pickup window, it will be donated to a good cause and subtracted from your basket account.

5.      No substitutions will be made for the basket contents. (If you find you do not care for something in your basket, please use this as an opportunity to make a new friend by sharing some of the harvest.)

6.      If for some reason you do not receive notification of the basket pickup days, you will not lose your basket; it will be added to the end of your subscription. We are very sorry if this happens to you; with a growing and fluctuating membership base, this has been a small problem that we want to eliminate, but please understand it can be an ongoing problem with this type of rolling sign up of new members.

7.     We retain the right to change our rules and policies at any time without notice.

Basket-A-Month Pickup Policies and Procedures

We typically select the week of the 20th each month for basket pickups (subject to change by Mother Nature or other reasons). Our normal pickup schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Hot Springs Village: location TBA

Thursday, 3:30–6:00 p.m.
Little Rock:  Unitarian Universalist Church, Reservoir Road

Friday, 3:30–6:00 p.m.
Little Rock:  Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church, Woodlawn & Walnut Street

Saturday, 7:30–10:00 a.m.
North Little Rock: 6th & Main Street

Saturday, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Conway: Courthouse Square

Wednesday, 7:00–10:00 a.m.
Searcy: Spring Park

LOCATIONS AND TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. We will notify you by e-mail several days prior to each month’s basket distribution and tell you where and when the pickups will occur.

What you have to do each month to make this work beautifully for you and your family:

1.   You must reply to our pickup notification e-mail to receive a basket. The e-mail will come from csalittlerock@yahoo.com. Please make sure your spam filter is set to accept e-mail from us. This is the only way for us to know how many baskets to prepare. If you do not reply, we won’t make a basket for you.

2.   You must state in your reply e-mail which pickup location you choose. Locations and times are subject to change from month to month; please read your e-mail carefully for current pickup dates, times and locations. You may send someone else to get your basket, but be sure he or she is punctual and knows the pickup location.

If you do not reply, you do not lose your basket; it is still owed to you. You simply defer it to the next monthly pickup. If you are traveling, for example, you can skip a basket and not worry about losing it. If, however, you reserve a basket but do not pick it up, we must deduct it from your account. Thank you for your cooperation in making the BAM program run smoothly for all of us.

(By subscribing, you affirm that you have read and agree to the program rules and procedures.)
